ace&jig is a textile love story.

we design and create all our own yarn dye woven textiles, working intimately with artisan weavers in india. our textiles spark joy!

our textiles all begin as raw cotton. from there we work with a dyer who is a bit of a magician. he mixes multiple dyes and is able to get the exact shade we ask for the first time, without even measuring. these dyed skeins of fiber are dried in the sun, and wound on a wheel concocted out of an old bicycle.

then the painstaking warping process begins. we start by making small weavings called handlooms, tweaking color, texture, pattern, and handfeel until we get the fabric just right. it's only once we look at the textile and get that magical feeling that we pass the final designs on to larger autolooms for production.
